TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION OF REHABILITATION WITH CLOSE-FIT COMPACT SLIMLINER LINING

in accordance with PN-EN 752-2; 752-5, 13689; PN-EN ISO 11296-1 and 11296-3.

MATERIAL

In the Compact Slimliner method of water pipe rehabilitation with close-fit pipe lining we use thin-wall polyethylene pipes manufactured at a reduced dimension. The Compact Slimliner pipe is interactive lining which uses the rehabilitated pipeline as a construction element.

LINER INSTALLATION EQUIPMENT

  • cleaning machine (jetting truck, scraper)
  • remote controlled inspection camera
  • remote controlled milling equipment
  • guiding rollers
  • hoisting machine (winch)
  • by-pass equipment (pumps, hoses)
  • expander (for lining diameter calibration)

PREPARATION FOR THE INSTALLATION

Before starting rehabilitation appropriate by-passes must be constructed (if required) to ensure the supply of appropriate utilities. After a section of the pipeline is taken out of service we clean it and inspect with a remote-controlled camera. The analysis of the video (or DVD) from the sewer inspection forms the basis to create a detailed computer report on the technical condition of the pipeline.

INSTALLATION

A towline is inserted into the pipeline. To the end of the towline a guiding head is attached (via a swivel), welded earlier to the Compact Pipe using a PE-HD transition fitting. Once the whole section of the lining is fed from the transportation spool, the lining is cut, and the place of cutting is protected by welding a transition plate to which a process head can be attached. Steam and compressed air hoses are connected to the head. Then temperature and pressure sensors are attached to the lining and a steam / condensation separator is attached to the lining end, and the proper installation begins. The Compact Pipe lining is brought to appropriate elasticity (by heating it with steam for an appropriately long time), and then pressurized with compressed air to inflate the lining, press it tight against the walls of the old pipeline and cool down the plasticized compact pipe lining.
After finalizing the installation process the guide head with the transition plate are cut off. The bare ends of the compact pipe liner are calibrated with a hydraulic expander and strengthened with sleeves, connected using an electrofusion pipe fitting with an appropriate transition profile or another section of the compact pipe lining

CONTROL

CCTV INSPECTION

Once the installation is finished and drains are opened a CCTV acceptance inspection is made and recorded on a DVD or another storage medium. At the same time an inspection report is prepared.

TESTS

In accordance with PN-EN ISO 11296-1, 11296-3.

APPLICATION

Diameter range: DN75 – DN300 Industrial, water, pressure sewer networks.

DEFECT REMEDIATION

Any defects are made good with the help of a camera-controlled robot and/or by patching with short sections of the pipe liner.
